Codes & Statical Analyses

HALBER supports Danish, Norwegian and German standards, as well as Eurocode according to Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Finnish, Austrian and Dutch NAD. Loads and load combinations are generated according to the relevant standards, and sectional forces can be determined linearly as well as non-linearly. The system is open, which means that in case extraordinary conditions have to be taken into consideration, the User can modify boundary conditions, insert eccentricities, add supplementary structural components, modify or add loads or load combinations, etc.

As far as legs, girders and columns are concerned, all the necessary checks required by the standards are made. This means checks regarding stresses, section capacities, column and flexural torsional buckling, interaction between column and flexural torsional buckling, etc. For this type of structures it is especially the flexural torsional buckling phenomenon which is interesting and difficult to handle. Flexural torsional buckling supports of the inner flanges of the frames placed at the purlins can be defined in the form of fork or warping restraints. In the HALBER system the differential equations are established and solved directly with due consideration to flexural torsional buckling supports, varying sections, point of the load attack and to the load distributions.

In this way the stability calculations are very concise, and not subject to the simplified and not always quite correct assumptions made in the recommendations which have traditionally been used in Denmark.
